Description of Project: I am working on the facility effects of high-performance electronic propulsion. Mainly, I am running numerical simulations on carbon back-sputtering due to an ion beam in the vacuum chamber using a Cuda-based Hybrid Approach for Octree Simulations (CHAOS). Using high-performance parallel computing in CHAOS, it enables running three-dimensional fully kinetic Particle-In-Cell (PIC)-Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) to study back-sputtered carbons.
