Description of Project: I am working to optimize Hall thruster experiments for model calibration. This involves learning and manipulating various diagnostic methods and Hall thruster models. With these tools, I can determine experiments (diagnostic type and position; facility and thruster configuration) that are most informative to calibrate a given model. This is important when testing becomes limited in time or expense. The goal is to apply this work to high power Hall thruster tests when vacuum testing facilities cannot handle long duration, high throughput experiments.
